Ingredients:

  • For the Bread Pudding:
    • 4 cups cubed day-old bread (French or Italian bread works well)
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit (optional)
  • For Serving (Optional):
    • Whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  2. Prepare the Bread:
    • Place the cubed bread in a large bowl. If using raisins or other dried fruit, mix them in.
  3. Make the Custard Mixture:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  4. Combine and Soak:
    • Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, gently tossing to coat. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the custard.
  5. Prepare the Air Fryer Basket:
    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper.
  6. Cook:
    • Transfer the soaked bread mixture into the air fryer basket, spreading it out evenly.
    • Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Serve:
    • Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving.
    • Serve warm with optional whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Its just easier to obtain for me and much cheaper (most store just sells white bread). Also alot of the recipe said to use old bread, how old is the bread, 1 day/2 day/more?
