  • 4 large croissants
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Sliced almonds for topping
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, granulated sugar, softened butter, egg, and almond extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Slice each croissant horizontally, but not all the way through, so you can open them up like a book.
  4. Spread the almond mixture evenly onto the bottom half of each croissant.
  5. Close the croissants and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of each croissant.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the almond filling is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  9. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
