Hey foodies! I’ve been pondering the origins of the term “grinder sandwich.” 🤔 Does anyone know why it’s called that? I’d love to hear any fun facts or stories behind the name! 🤓🥪

‘Grinder’ likely comes from the tough bread used, which was hard to chew or ‘grind’ through. It’s a New England term for a hearty sandwich! 🥪🤓

I think it’s called a grinder sandwich because the bread is usually crusty and has to be 'ground' or pressed to fit everything in. 🍞 Though, there might be local lore behind the name too!
