I learned this recipe from a friend and decided to give it a whirl – and oh my goodness, it's a game-changer.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium apple, cored and chopped
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions:
1. In a blender, combine the chopped apple, applesauce, Greek yogurt, milk, honey or maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and ice cubes.
2. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender if needed.
3. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice levels if desired, adding more honey, cinnamon, or nutmeg to taste.
4. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
5. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a slice of apple for presentation.
