Ingredients:

  • 500g ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vermicelli noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • Fresh herbs (mint, cilantro)
  • Lettuce leaves
Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, minced garlic, minced shallots, fish sauce, sugar, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the pork mixture into small portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the pork patties until cooked through and slightly charred on the outside, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. While the pork is grilling, prepare the vermicelli noodles according to package instructions.
  5. To serve, place a portion of cooked vermicelli noodles in a bowl, top with grilled pork patties, and garnish with fresh herbs and lettuce leaves.
  6. Serve with a side of dipping sauce (made from a mixture of fish sauce, sugar, water, lime juice, garlic, and chili), and enjoy!
