Can you still use jerk seasoning if it's past the expiration date?

I found a jar of jerk seasoning in my pantry, but it's expired. Should I toss it out, or is it still safe to use? I don't want to waste it if I don't have to! Share your experiences and advice, please!

If the jerk seasoning just recently expired, it’s likely still safe to use as long as it smells and tastes good. Spices lose potency over time, though, so it may not pack the same punch. If it smells off, better to toss it.
