The idea for sharing this Candied Walnuts recipe with chili flakes stemmed from a recent dinner party. Guests raved over the crisp and tasty snack, inspiring them to spread the pleasure. These handmade candied walnuts have the ideal sweet-spicy balance, making them a delicious snack for any occasion. 
Ingredients

Ingredients
- Walnuts: half a pound
- Sugar: about 40g
- Extras: half a teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of dried chili flakes (alternatives to chili flakes include vanilla extract, and/or cinammon)
Instructions
- If using raw walnuts, toast them in a pan or roast them in the oven until fragrant and reserve.
- In a non-stick pan, dissolve sugar and any extras in water. Reduce the syrup until thick and bubbly.
- Mix in the walnuts and coat in the syrup.
- Spread the walnuts out on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and allow to cool.
- Put away in the fridge once cooled down to room temperature.
