A healthy Snack
Ingredients:
- 1 large cassava (also known as yuca)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Peel the cassava and cut it into thin slices using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer. Aim for slices about 1/8 inch thick.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the cassava slices to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the fryer or pot.
- Fry the cassava slices for 5-7 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the fried cassava chips from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Sprinkle the hot chips with salt to taste while they're still warm.
- Repeat the frying process with the remaining cassava slices until all are cooked.
- Allow the cassava chips to cool slightly before serving.
