Ingredients:
For the chicken:
  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For assembling the tacos:
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced onions
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole
  • Grated cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • Sour cream
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving
Instructions:
  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken strips to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned. Remove from heat.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or in the microwave according to the package instructions.
  4. To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of the cooked chicken onto each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced onions, sliced avocado or guacamole, grated cheese, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.
  5. Squeeze a fresh lime wedge over each taco before serving for a burst of citrus flavor.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious chicken tacos!
