Savor the taste of beef with this soup

- 1 lb (450g) beef (such as chuck or brisket), sliced thinly
- 8 cups (2 liters) beef broth or stock
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch (2.5 cm) piece of ginger, sliced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: noodles or rice for serving
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the sliced beef to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the beef broth or stock and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 20-30 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
- Add the sliced carrots and celery to the pot and simmer for another 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions. You can also serve the soup with noodles or rice if desired.
