I recently tried making a Duck Stir Fry, and it was a deliciously unique twist on a classic dish! The rich flavor of the duck paired beautifully with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce. Here’s how to whip it up!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound duck breast, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 cup snap peas
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or a vegan alternative)
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Duck: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced duck breast and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the duck from the pan and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the garlic, ginger, and green onions, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the bell pepper, carrot, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Combine and Sauce It Up: Return the duck to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through and combine the flavors.
- Serve: Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
