Ingredients:
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk
- 1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow creme
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
- Line a 9x9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal of the fudge later. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and evaporated milk over medium heat.
- Stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a full rolling boil. Once boiling, continue to boil for 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
- After 4-5 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Quickly stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Next, add the marshmallow creme and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until the marshmallow creme is fully incorporated.
- If using chopped nuts, fold them into the fudge mixture until evenly distributed.
- Immediately pour the hot fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
- Let the fudge cool at room temperature until set, which usually takes about 2-3 hours.
- Once the fudge is completely cooled and set, use the overhang of the parchment paper or aluminum foil to lift it out of the pan.
- Place the fudge on a cutting board and cut it into squares using a sharp knife.
- Store the Fantasy Fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
