Here's a good snack I want to share!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 500g white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock), deboned and skinned
- 1 egg white
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
- Optional: chopped cilantro or parsley for added flavor
- Cut the fish fillets into small pieces and place them in a food processor.
- Pulse the fish until it forms a smooth paste.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the fish paste with the egg white, cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, chopped green onions, and grated ginger. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- If desired, mix in chopped cilantro or parsley for added flavor.
- With damp hands, shape the fish mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You can also use a spoon to scoop and shape the fish mixture.
- Once all the fish balls are formed, you can either steam them, boil them in a pot of water, or fry them until golden brown.
- If steaming, place the fish balls on a plate lined with parchment paper and steam for about 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through.
- If boiling, bring a pot of water to a boil and gently drop the fish balls into the water. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
- If frying, heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the fish balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per batch.
- Once cooked, serve the fish balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce or add them to soups or noodle dishes.
