- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: diced ham, cooked bacon, sautéed vegetables, fresh herbs
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a small baking dish or individual ramekins with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, melted butter, shredded cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a separate clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture, being careful not to deflate the egg whites too much. This will help create a light and fluffy soufflé.
- If using any optional toppings, fold them into the soufflé mixture at this point.
- Pour the soufflé mixture into the prepared baking dish or ramekins, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Place the baking dish or ramekins on a baking sheet and carefully transfer them to the preheated oven.
- Bake the Fluffy Breakfast Soufflé for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed up and golden brown on top.
- Remove the soufflé from the oven and serve immediately, while it's still hot and fluffy.
