Hey everyone, I just want to share with you this amazing recipe for homemade focaccia! It's fluffy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing with friends and family. Let's get baking!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 500g (about 4 cups) all-purpose flour
218×324
157.2 kB - 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
- Toppings of your choice (rosemary, olives, cherry tomatoes, etc.)
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Stir until a dough forms, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a lightly oiled baking sheet.
- Gently stretch and press the dough into a rectangle or oval shape, about 1 inch thick.
- Using your fingers, make indentations all over the surface of the dough.
- Drizzle the top of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with your choice of toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
