a good snack, easy to make and very nice tasting!


Ingredients:
- 12 mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions:
- Prepare the cheese sticks:
- Place the mozzarella sticks in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape while frying.
- Set up the breading station:
- In one shallow bowl, place the flour.
- In a second shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third shallow bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Bread the cheese sticks:
- Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer.
- Dredge each stick in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. For extra crunch, you can double-dip by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.
- Heat the oil:
- In a deep skillet or fryer, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese sticks:
- Carefully add a few cheese sticks at a time to the hot oil. Fry for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as they can cook quickly!
- Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.
