Ingredients:
- 4 cups water, divided
- 8 chai tea bags
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup molasses
- ¾ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¾ cup oats
- 3 tablespoons liquefied coconut oil
- 1½ cups cold water
- 3 pitted dates
- Brew Chai Base: Combine 2 cups of water and tea bags in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, and let the tea steep for 10 minutes.
- Add Sweetness & Spices: Remove tea bags and stir in brown sugar, white sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Return the pan to high heat, bring to a boil, and simmer until thickened. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Prep Oats: Place oats in a heat-resistant bowl. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over them and let stand for 10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Blend Oat Milk: Blend oats, coconut oil, cold water, and dates until smooth and creamy. Strain through a fine sieve and discard solids.
- Mix Creamer: Stir ½ cup (or more) of the cooled chai mixture into the oat milk. Refrigerate until ready to use.
