In a skillet or saucepan with a tight-fitting cover, melt butter over medium heat. Add salt, brown sugar, ginger, turmeric, and cayenne as soon as the butter begins to boil. Cook for one minute while whisking.
Step 2
Add the rice and whisk until the butter coats each grain. Add the water, stir, and increase the heat to a boil. Once it starts to boil, shake and stir the pan gently to ensure that the rice is well distributed, and then turn the heat down to medium-low.
Step 3
Simmer for fifteen minutes with a tight cover. After turning off the heat, leave covered for ten minutes. Until now, DO NOT attempt to stir or lift the lid.
Step 4
Now take off the cover and separate and fluff the rice grains with a fork. After adding seasoning to taste, serve right away with green onions and walnuts as garnish.
