Hey foodies! Have you ever craved a sweet, crispy treat that reminds you of home? Look no further because I've got the perfect recipe for you ..So let's dive into this simple and satisfying recipe straight from Grandma's kitchen!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Cinnamon sugar (1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon), for coating
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg lightly, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth dough forms. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C) over medium heat.
- While the oil is heating, divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a ball about the size of a walnut.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop a few dough balls into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.
- Fry the bunuelos for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried bunuelos to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- While the bunuelos are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Repeat the frying and coating process with the remaining dough balls until all the bunuelos are cooked.
