Gravy Recipe

If you want to prepare a gravy, which is similar to the one found in the tubs of KFC Potato and Gravy, where do you turn? Those among you who don’t partake in fast foods are surely unaware of how they taste like. But all you can know is that it is just like the regular KFC meals – consistently yummy, flavorful, can make anything yummy! This has been made into a similar taste and creamy nature of the actual McDonald’s item which has made it popular among burger lovers. This is a copycat gravy that goes well over mashed potatoes, fried chicken or just about anything you can think of just like the famous KFC recipe.🤤🥣

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken stock cube or 2 tsp powder
  • 1 beef stock cube or 2 tsp powder
  • 2 1/4 cups (565ml) boiling water
  • 60g (4 tbsp) unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (or garlic powder)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:
  1. Dissolve the stock cubes in boiling water.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add flour, onion powder, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Slowly pour in half the stock while stirring. Once thickened, add the rest and mix.
  5. Cook for 1.5 – 2 minutes until it reaches gravy consistency.
  6. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.


Serve with chops, steak, sausages, vegetables, or roast meats.
