Hibachi Noodles Recipe
Ingredients:
For The Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mirin (or substitute rice vinegar or white vinegar)
- 7 ounces dry noodles (200 g, linguine pasta works well too)
- 3 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 2 teaspoons white sesame seeds
Cook The Noodles:
- Cook the dry noodles in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Avoid overcooking to prevent them from becoming soggy.
- Once cooked, drain the noodles and toss them in 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil to prevent sticking. You can refrigerate them in an airtight container for up to 4 days if preparing ahead.
- In a bowl, mix together dark soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and mirin. Set aside.
- Heat butter and sesame oil in a skillet or wok over high heat.
- Once hot, add chopped onions, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
- Add the prepared sauce mixture and cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce.
- Season with salt and ground pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Sprinkle white sesame seeds over the noodles and serve immediately.
