This vibrant pink drink is not only beautiful but also bursting with flavor. It's made with hibiscus flowers, which are naturally caffeine-free and have a tart and berry-like taste. Mint leaves add a refreshing coolness, while a touch of lime juice and honey balances the sweetness and tartness.
Agua fresca is a light and healthy beverage that's perfect for a hot summer day. It's also incredibly easy to make, requiring minimal ingredients and prep time.

Agua fresca is a light and healthy beverage that's perfect for a hot summer day. It's also incredibly easy to make, requiring minimal ingredients and prep time.
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup lime juice (or to taste)
- Lime wedges and mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
- In a medium saucepan, combine the hibiscus flowers and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the liquid is a deep pink color.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture steep for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for a more concentrated flavor.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Discard the solids.
- Stir in the sugar, mint leaves, and lime juice. Taste and adjust sweetness and tartness to your preference. You can add more sugar for a sweeter drink or more lime juice for a tart one.
- Serve the agua fresca chilled, over ice. Garnish with lime wedges and mint sprigs (optional).
