Gözleme Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup spinach, chopped
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- Olive oil for cooking
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the spinach, feta cheese, parsley, and onion. Mix well.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle or rectangle on a floured surface.
- Place a quarter of the spinach and feta mixture on one half of each dough piece, leaving a small border around the edges. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly brush with olive oil.
- Cook each Gözleme for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy. Brush with more olive oil as needed.
- Serve warm, sliced into pieces.
