Hey everyone! I’m excited to share a delicious Turkish treat, Gözleme. These stuffed flatbreads are easy to make and perfect for any meal. Let’s get started!

Gözleme Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Olive oil for cooking
Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine the spinach, feta cheese, parsley, and onion. Mix well.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle or rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Place a quarter of the spinach and feta mixture on one half of each dough piece, leaving a small border around the edges. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly brush with olive oil.
  7. Cook each Gözleme for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy. Brush with more olive oil as needed.
  8. Serve warm, sliced into pieces.
