How do you make clam chowder less watery?

Hello there! I've been experimenting with making a clam chowder 🥣, but sometimes it turns out a bit too watery. 😓 It feels frustrating. Does anyone have any tricks to help me thicken it up? Let me know your thoughts!

Vegetables like diced potatoes or corn can release starch as they cook, thickening the soup naturally. You can add them a bit earlier in the process to let them work their magic. 😋👍😉✨

To make clam chowder less watery, you can thicken it by adding a roux (equal parts butter and flour), a cornstarch slurry, or by mashing some of the potatoes in the chowder. Alternatively, simmer the chowder longer to reduce excess liquid or stir in heavy cream for a richer, thicker consistency. Each method enhances the chowder's texture for a heartier dish.
