Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with my Instant Pot and found a fantastic way to make ribs that are super tender and full of flavor. Thought I’d share the recipe here for anyone else who loves a quick and delicious meal!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite kind)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for some heat)
- Prepare the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it’s still attached. This helps them become more tender.
- Season: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mix all over the ribs.
- Sauté: Set your Instant Pot to the ‘Sauté’ function and heat the olive oil. Once hot, sear the ribs on each side for about 2-3 minutes until nicely browned. You might need to do this in batches depending on the size of your Instant Pot.
- Add Liquid: After searing, pour in the apple cider vinegar and water. Scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze and get all those flavorful bits off.
- Cook: Place the ribs in the Instant Pot, stacking them if necessary. Lock the lid and set the pot to ‘Manual’ or ‘Pressure Cook’ on high for 25 minutes.
- Natural Release: Once the cooking time is up, let the pressure release naturally for about 10 minutes, then do a quick release to release any remaining pressure.
- Glaze (Optional): If you like a caramelized glaze, brush the cooked ribs with barbecue sauce and broil them in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly charred.
- Serve: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting them into individual portions. Enjoy!
