I've heard mixed opinions on this. Are they similar in taste or texture, or are they entirely different? I'm a fan of both, so I'm curious to know if they share any common ground. Any comparisons or explanations would be awesome!
I tried both, and they do have some similarities but also big differences. The taste is kinda close, but the texture is definitely different. One is more creamy, while the other is a bit more chunky...
Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are quite different in taste and texture. Pad See Ew features wide, flat rice noodles stir-fried with soy sauce, garlic, and Chinese broccoli, giving it a savory, slightly sweet flavor with a chewy texture. Pad Thai, on the other hand, uses thinner rice noodles stir-fried with tamarind paste, fish sauce, and often includes peanuts, bean sprouts, and a hint of sweetness from palm sugar, resulting in a tangy, sweet, and slightly nutty flavor.
