I recently tried my hand at Jamaican jerk chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! The combination of spices and the smoky flavor made it a hit at dinner. Here's how you can make it yourself.
Jamaican Jerk Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tbsp allspice
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix all the spices, garlic, and onion.
- Add the soy sauce, lime juice, and olive oil to create a marinade.
- Place the chicken in the marinade, making sure it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours, but overnight is best.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until it's cooked through and has a nice char.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
