Hey everyone! Here's a classic recipe for old-fashioned potato soup. It's simple, hearty, and perfect for a cozy meal. You only need a few basic ingredients! You should try it, and I'm sure you will enjoy it. 
Ingredients:

- 4 cups diced potatoes (peeled)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 cup milk (or cream for a richer taste)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: bacon bits, shredded cheese, chopped parsley for garnish
- Large pot
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Knife and cutting board
- Ladle
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions, celery, and carrots. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced potatoes and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Use a potato masher or an immersion blender to partially mash the potatoes in the pot, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Stir in the milk and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat through, but do not boil.
- Serve hot, garnished with bacon bits, shredded cheese, and chopped parsley if desired.
