Open-Faced Pizza Burgers
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 can (15 oz) pizza sauce
- 1 can (4 oz) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 1-1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until no longer pink, about 3-5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, mushrooms, sugar, and oregano; mix well.
- Spoon the mixture onto toasted hamburger buns.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets and broil 4 inches from the heat until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.
