Pineapple in a pan, want to try?
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and sliced into rings or chunks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: cinnamon or vanilla extract for added flavor
- Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the butter or coconut oil to the pan and let it melt.
- Once the butter is melted and the pan is hot, add the pineapple slices or chunks to the pan in a single layer. If using brown sugar, sprinkle it evenly over the pineapple.
- Let the pineapple cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to caramelize and develop a golden brown color on one side.
- Using tongs, flip the pineapple slices or chunks over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side, until caramelized and golden brown.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the pineapple for balance.
- Optional: Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- Remove the pan-fried pineapple from the heat and transfer to a serving dish.
- Serve the pan-fried pineapple as a delicious side dish, dessert, or topping for pancakes, yogurt, or ice cream.
