Ingredients:
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
- Cook the Meat: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook the Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Assemble the Layers: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer with lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese, pepperoni slices, diced bell peppers, black olives, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous topping of cheese and pepperoni.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil if you like, and dig in!
