- 2 lbs pork shoulder or pork butt, cut into chunks
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. This is your barbecue sauce.
- Place the pork chunks in the slow cooker and pour the barbecue sauce mixture over them, making sure the pork is well coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once the pork is cooked, shred it using two forks right in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
- Serve the shredded pork barbecue on buns or rolls, or alongside your favorite sides like coleslaw or cornbread.
