For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (to achieve desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, instant yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
    • Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead and Rise:
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
    • Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. Roll and Fill:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
    • Spread softened butter for the filling evenly over the dough, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Shape the Rolls:
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
    • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Make the Frosting:
    • While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Add milk to reach your desired consistency.
  7. Frost and Serve:
    • Once the rolls are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.
