The secret to a delicious ramen is in the broth. Here's a simple and flavorful ramen broth recipe that you can make at home with ease. Let's dive in!
Ingredients:

Customize your ramen with toppings like soft-boiled eggs, sliced pork, nori, and green onions. Enjoy your homemade ramen experience! 


Ingredients:
- 8 cups water
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 piece kombu (dried kelp, about 5 inches)
- 1 cup dried bonito flakes
- 1 onion, halved
- 1 garlic bulb, halved
- 1 piece ginger (about 2 inches), sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp miso paste
- 1 tbsp sake (optional)
- 1 tbsp mirin (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Gather all your ingredients.
- Rinse the kombu under cold water to remove any dirt.
- Make the Dashi Base:
- In a large pot, combine water and kombu.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then remove the kombu just before the water starts to boil.
- Add bonito flakes to the pot and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve to remove the bonito flakes.
- Add Aromatics and Broth:
- Return the dashi base to the pot.
- Add chicken broth, onion, garlic, and ginger.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
- Season the Broth:
- After 30 minutes, remove the onion, garlic, and ginger from the pot.
- Stir in soy sauce, miso paste, sake, and mirin.
- Taste and add salt if needed.
- Strain and Serve:
- Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve to ensure it's smooth and clear.
- Your ramen broth is now ready to use! Pour it over your favorite ramen noodles and add your preferred toppings.
