Ingredients:

- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ΒΌ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toast or biscuits, for serving
- Skillet or frying pan
- Whisk
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it's browned and cooked through. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if needed.
- Make the Roux: Push the ground beef to one side of the skillet and melt the butter on the other side. Add the flour to the butter and whisk together until smooth. Cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.
- Add the Milk: Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to combine with the flour mixture. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
