Should honey cake be kept in the fridge?

Do you keep your honey cake in the fridge or leave it out? I'm trying to figure out the best way to store it to keep it fresh and tasty for as long as possible.

I usually leave my honey cake out on the counter. This way, it doesn't get too hard and I can enjoy it whenever I want! But if it's really hot, I might put it in the fridge to prevent it from going bad.
