Hey everyone! Here's a quick and tasty recipe for Dal, a classic lentil stew that's perfect for any meal. I hope you try and enjoy this. Good Luck
Ingredients:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup yellow lentils (moong dal), rinsed
- 4 cups water
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, chopped (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or ghee
- Medium pot
- Wooden spoon or spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Rinse the lentils under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a medium pot, heat the oil or ghee over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and sautΓ© until they turn translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili (if using). SautΓ© for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, ground turmeric, ground cumin, and ground coriander. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are softened and the spices are fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add the rinsed lentils to the pot and stir well to coat them with the onion-tomato mixture.
- Pour in 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils are tender and the dal has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped cilantro.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread. Enjoy your comforting Dal!
