A Cozy Breakfast Treat
Craving a warm, comforting breakfast that’s easy to make and bursting with fall flavors? This Spiced Apple and Walnut Baked Oatmeal is your new go-to! Packed with wholesome oats, crunchy walnuts, and spiced apples, it’s perfect for a cozy morning at home or meal prep for busy weekdays.Ingredients:
- 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups milk of choice
- 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup diced apples (any sweet variety)
- Extra apple slices and walnuts for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
- Combine oats, half the walnuts, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, honey, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, then fold in the diced apples.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with extra apple slices and walnuts.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the oatmeal is set. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
