- 1 can (about 4.4 ounces) sardines in oil, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
- Crackers, bread, or vegetables for serving
- In a small mixing bowl, mash the drained sardines with a fork until they reach your desired consistency.
- Add the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt or sour cream, lemon juice, hot sauce, and garlic powder to the bowl with the mashed sardines. Mix until well combined.
- Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning with salt, black pepper, and additional hot sauce if desired.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives, if using.
- Serve the spicy sardine dip with crackers, bread, or vegetables for dipping.
