After a bit of trial and error (okay, maybe more than a bit ),I finally made it, so here's how I did it
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, bell pepper, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, ensuring not to overmix.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and shape it into a loaf.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the meatloaf, gently pressing it into the surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve slices of the brown sugar meatloaf hot, paired with your favorite sides.
Not so Pro tip just ensure that not to overmix the ingredients. Gentle mixing helps maintain the meatloaf's moisture and texture. Additionally, consider adding a small amount of broth or stock to the mixture for extra juiciness. Bye for now haha
