Ingredients:
For the rolls:
- 1 cup warm milk (around 110°F)
- 1 package active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
- Add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 20 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet, leaving a little space between each roll.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes, until they have doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the cinnamon honey butter by combining the softened butter, powdered sugar, honey, and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Once the rolls are done, brush the tops with melted butter and serve warm with the cinnamon honey butter on the side.
