Hey there, frosting fanatics!
Who doesn't love a good slathering of that sweet, tangy, lusciously smooth cream cheese frosting? It's the perfect topping for cakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls - you name it. And the best part? This recipe is stupid-easy. Like, we're talking a few simple ingredients and zero complicated techniques. Let's get mixing!
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Licking the bowl is heavily encouraged!

Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
- Make sure your cream cheese and butter are both properly softened to room temperature. This is key for getting that dreamy, creamy texture.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add in the soft butter and beat together with the cream cheese until fully combined and smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and salt until incorporated.
- With the mixer on low speed, gradually add in the confectioners' sugar about 1/2 cup at a time. Keep mixing until it's all blended in and there are no more sugar lumps.
- Once the frosting is lump-free and velvety smooth, give it a taste and adjust anything to your liking. Need a bit more sugar? Go for it! More vanilla? No problem!
- Use the frosting right away to top your favorite baked goods, or refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
