Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk
- ¾ cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 2 ounces of semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir constantly and bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, place the egg yolks. Gradually whisk in about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture. Then, return this mixture to the saucepan. Heat and stir until it thickens, but be careful not to let it boil.
