What causes water in lemon meringue pie?

Hey guys, dealing with a weepy lemon meringue pie here. From what I’ve gathered, this "weeping" can happen when the sugar in the meringue dissolves, leading to water beads on the surface. Or, if the filling’s hot and the meringue's cool, condensation forms. Does anyone have tricks to prevent this? How do you keep yours from getting watery?

Dealing with a weepy lemon meringue pie can be frustrating, but don't worry, you're not alone! 😁 One trick I've found helpful is to make sure the lemon filling is completely cooled before adding the meringue. This helps prevent condensation from forming between the layers. Also, make sure to spread the meringue all the way to the edges of the pie crust to create a seal that keeps moisture from seeping in.

Hopefully, these tips will help you achieve that perfect, non-weepy lemon meringue pie! :)
