Loufa is also known as a loofah or luffa- is a natural product obtained from the dried up fruit of a vine plant. It just so happens its also a part of the gourd family. When their young, people can actually eat these fruits like a veggie. But once they get a bit older and dried out, the insides form a sort of fibrous material which then gets used as a natural sort of sponge.

A Loufa gets used for a whole bunch of stuff like bathing, skin scrubbing, washing dishes & doing general household cleaning. One of the reasons its so popular is because its biodegradable and friendly to the environment, which is always a plus. Plus its got no plastic in it either.

Plenty of people have taken to growing their own loufa plants at home because they're pretty easy going and give off loads of fruit. With its loads of uses and all natural origin, loufa is one of those super useful & eco friendly things that can find a spot in most of our homes.
