What’s the ideal consistency for pudding?

What's the perfect pudding consistency in your opinion? I want mine just right, not too thick or runny. How do you achieve that?

For me, the perfect pudding consistency is when it's smooth and creamy, not too thick but definitely not runny either. I like it to have just enough thickness that it holds its shape on the spoon, but still melts in your mouth.
