Hello brekkie buds!! I wanna perfect my French toast and could use some of your secret tips. What do you swear by for that golden, delicious outcome? I’ve tried varying bread types, adjusting egg ratios, even experimenting with spices. Yet, I feel like something’s missing here. What's your trick?

One trick I've picked up is to use thick slices of day-old bread—that way, it soaks up the egg mixture without getting too soggy. And don't skimp on the cinnamon and vanilla in the batter—that's where all the flavor is! Oh, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup on top? Absolute game-changer.

Adding a dash of nutmeg is a tip I learned from my grandma and I can say that that really made a difference from my previous French toasts. I also go for a bit stale bread instead of the fresh ones so that they wont get too soggy when cooked.
