Why are my mashed potatoes not fluffy?

Hello, been trying to perfect my mashed potatoes, aiming for that light, fluffy texture, but somehow, mine always end up dense. What I might be doing wrong? Could it be related to the potato type or maybe my mashing technique? Has anyone encountered similar challenges and found a way to achieve the perfect fluffiness?
 
I found that using a potato ricer or a food mill gives a fluffier texture compared to a regular masher or an electric mixer, which can make them gluey if overmixed. 😉👍✨👌
 
Thanks for the tips, @chimam and @johnlloyd I hadn't thought about using a potato ricer or food mill before, so I'll definitely give that a try. I'll also make sure to drain the potatoes really well next time. I appreciate the advice and can't wait to see if these changes make my mashed potatoes fluffy and perfect! 🥔✨
