Why are my pumpkin cookies sticky after baking?

I followed the recipe, but my cookies turned out sticky instead of firm. What could have caused this? Did I miss a step or use the wrong ingredients? Any advice on how to fix this for next time? Thanks for your help!

Sticky pumpkin cookies can happen! It might be the pumpkin puree ..sometimes it can be extra wet ..Try adding a little more flour next time, just a tablespoon or two, until the dough feels less sticky. Hope this helps for your next batch!

I think the dough might have too much moisture. Maybe try reducing the pumpkin puree a bit.
