Why did my Christmas Crack separate?

Hey team, ever had your Christmas Crack dessert separate? I made this toffee treat, but layers didn't stick together. Not sure if it's about temperature, timing, or ingredient ratios. Really want to nail it for the holidays. Anyone else faced this and figured out how to fix it? Tips would be super helpful!

If your Christmas Crack still separates despite careful cooking, you can try pressing the layers firmly together while the mixture is still warm. I think this can help them adhere better and minimize separation. Though, handle with care to avoid burning yourself. 🔥🖐️

Also experienced that on my first try. I suggest that when you're melting the chocolate for the top layer, use gentle heat and stir frequently to prevent scorching. Be sure to spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee layer while it's still warm for it to stick together. Make sure to also let it rest and cool first before cutting :)

Hello! It's great to learn from each other's experiences. I'll definitely keep your tips, warm chocolate and patience—is like a winning combination:)
